Activity that I can see in the watch doesn't sync and cannot import fit file manually: "We don't support the file type you tried to import"

Hi guys, I did an open water swim today, I see the activity in the watch, Fenix 6 X Pro with 24.00 software, but when I synched my activities (tried both bluetooth and wifi), it didn't appear. I also took the fit file and when I imported it in garmin connect, it says: "We don't support the file type you tried to import"

I also tried to import the fit file in strave and trainingpeaks, It doen't work anywhere.

Fixed using Fit File Repair Tool

Some suggestions to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files:
- Sync your watch then remove all activity fit files…

Zip then attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

Some suggestions to help minimize the occurrence of corrupt fit files:

Sync your watch then remove all activity fit files from the device using these directions - Removing Recorded Activities on a Garmin Fitness Device
Regularly check for firmware updates using Garmin Express
Please report back here when you encounter corrupted files again

Also, since you used the HRM-Pro, this will sometimes corrupt activity fit files

Update the HRM firmware How Do I Update the HRM-Pro Software Using the Garmin Connect App?
Note that HR data download after the activity is usually for swimming or when for some reason you could not wear your watch during an activity.
During the HRM-Pro download process keep the strap and watch in close proximity
If issues persist even after the firmware update, contact Garmin Support

Hi seilogramp, could you check what would be the problem with these files? I have ubuntu and cannot install the app you suggested. I tried the online tool http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ but didn't work.

Looks like both of these are going to be due to the HRM-Pro causing the corruption. Might need Former Member to have a look.

Thanks so much Former Member for the files, you can remove them, I imported them sucessfully.

Than you both seilogramp seilogrampand Former Member for the info! I'll try having it closer to the strap, or perfrom MostafaMossaad's method of cancelling and then downloading

Hi all, i have messed up a FIT file (HR download...) So my activity is visible on my watch but no FIT file available. I have a hrdata FIT file with correct date. Anyway, when i try to import, it says file is not supported. Anyone can help me?

Or upload the fit file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

Is this the activity from your watch or just the HR data?
