I am Considering switching from the Instinct 2. Is the fenix 6 pro a downgrade or is it still performing in 2022?

Check in Connect IQ that all the CIQ apps you use are compatible with the F6P and if yes it's totally usable. I bought an F6 a year ago, a few weeks after F7 came out because they had a good deal and my only complaint was about it's weight compared to the FR245 i had previously.

I wouldn't be worried about the older generation of hr sensor. It's not perfect, but for my needs it's ok and when we do interval runs then i use a Polar H10 so i get the quick hr changes, which i don't think would be different between F6 and instinct2 'cause they both are optical and on the forearm.

Thanks for your replies. I have found the new HR sensor on the Instinct 2 to be iffy at best. You hake a very good point that wrist sensors are by nature not the best.

Thanks again! I think I'm going to go for it ,$280 for a new Fenix is hard to pass up.

Color screen and maps.  What's not to like?  Very capable watch.

I think not. The 6 pro is certainly still a watch that works, but since the 7 and the Epix 2 have appeared in the meantime, the 6 is on the decline.

This was a suprise for me when the Instinct 2 was announced, i don't find any information for the moment for CIQ System Level 6 upgrade on this product.

The new Instinct Crossover is already on the right way with CIQ version 4.1.x (like latest F7, Fx55, Venu2, etc.)

I'm actually looking at going the other way, as I don't use all the features of the 6 pro. Would you consider a trade?

Would have, but want to keep the instinct 2 until I compare. Thanks for the offer though.
