Golf Distance Auto Shot Banner Issues after v23.00 Software

Since the update to the latest Software on my fenix 6 (v23) the golf distance banner at the top of the screen has been replaced by a hole number and the par of the hole

I really like this feature how do I get it back ,

  • Ken, this is good stuff and thank you. It's consistent with what I found, so it appears we have a workaround until Garmin fixes this.

To everyone here, if you haven't opened a ticket with Garmin yet please do so to help escalate the issue for hopefully faster resolution.

  • update - it didn't work today (I did not do another shut down beforehand)

  • I updated my watch to V23.02 and the auto shot detection worked perfectly last night with no hard reset before the round so this seems to have fixed it

  • If this is the first round since you installed 23.02 it's just behaving like the reset cycle (just in place it was firmware update). The second round and consecutive for me still did the same thing after and requires the restart before hole one.

That testing cycle posted earlier is bang on for me how 23.02 behaves which makes sense too considering the .02 had nothing in it to fix this.

  • I now played a round with the new ct10 installed. And everything was fine again. I did a view tests but now the ct10 itself is detecting the hit and not the fenix 6 anymore.

    So problem solved for me.

I was already planning on buying them..but this issue speeded it up.

  • In your case the ct10 is registering the shots.. I now also used them and it works again.
so we can conclude that the watch is simply not picking up the movement and hits

  • Played yesterday, turned the watch off and turned it on again just before teeing off. Shot detection and shot banner appeared and worked for the whole round. Looks like a work around until Garmin find a fix.

  • Confounded. This is so frustrating when you can’t rely on a software update!  This feature is so important to golfers who track their distances on course and then review their round on the app after. Neither work for me anymore!

how do I register for the a notification of a fix?

  • Chris, I’m having the same issue as well
