Update language files to 4.20?

Hello,

My Fenix 6 is currently on the 23.00 beta, still waiting on the stable update.

In the meantime, some of the newer UI elements (like the training load widget) are displayed in English, and not my chosen language (Dutch).

I suspect that version 4.20 of the language files, which come with the stable 23.00 firmware, will have the proper translations for all the newer UI elements.

Is there any way I could download these new language files and get them to work with my current 23.00 beta firmware? If so, how? Maybe someone could extract the files from their stable 23.00 device? Or is there no other way than to wait for my stable update to get pushed to my device?

    The language files should be available in Garmin Express or via WebUpdater. I quite often see the language updates in both of these before the firmware update shows up

    The 23.0 beta will be the same as the public release 23.0. As noted update the language files from GE

    No language files are available in Garmin Express. Is there any way to check the version of the language files I'm currently running? Who knows I might be up to date after all, maybe there are some missing translations.

    You would have to uninstall your language from the watch, and then reinstalling it again to be able downloading it by Garmin Express. However, at each firmware update, the text files (normally) update with a matching version automatically too. If some translations are missing, it most likely means the developers forgot to have them translated, hence the default English texts appear.

    23.00 isn't beta.

    It was a release candidate that was promoted to stable and pushed to everyone.  The 23.00 you got is exactly the same image as the stable build pushed to everyone else.

    I've tried removing the Dutch language file, and reinstalling it from Garmin Express. The translations are still missing, for example when going into the HRV status widget, all text is in English.

    Could it be that these translations are missing even from the final 23.00 stable version? If so, the translations would be missing for everyone.

    Would you be kind enough to check? For example, set your watch to Dutch or something, and then go into the HRV status widget (not the glance view, but inside the widget to see the full view). If the text is in English, there's a translation issue with the stable 23.00 update.

    As stated by anyone here, 23.00 Beta and public are the same.

    Garmin Express should provide you the 4.20 language updated.

    Under your device -->  Tile "Tools & Content" --> Tab "Utilities" --> Section "Facultative Updates", "Language Files" and check if you have some updates here. (translate from my personal english speaking)

    The latest language files are here (backuped from my F6Pro), you can backup yours, then copy put these in the 'Text' folder of your watch for a test.

    I do not see any information about the language version directly on the watch.

    thanks for your reply, and thanks for providing your language files! I copied these to my F6 Sapphire and it worked - all text is now properly translated, except for one single line which I suspect Garmin have simply forgotten.

    Weirdly, neither Garmin Express or WebUpdater were showing me available language updates.

    I suspect this issue has something to do with my enrollment in the beta channel. I received the 23.00 via the beta channel first, as a release candidate. However, at that point, the language files weren't updated to 4.20 yet. When the 23.00 was released to the stable channel, the 4.20 language updates were released as well. But since my watch was already on 23.00 (the beta, but as you said, it's identical), it probably looked to Garmin Express like my watch was already fully updated.

    Anyway, seems like it's all fixed now. Except I need to report that one missing translation to Garmin. How/where should I do that? Sorry, I'm quite new around here.

    Thanks, I have. Still, I'm wondering if there is something specific to my firmware, causing the language files from your device to not work 100%.

    Would you be kind enough to try and set your F6 Pro to another language (e.g. Dutch), and then to check the HRV status widget glance?

    See screenshot below: the lines "HRV-status" and "7d avg" remain untranslated, even after I copied the language files you provided. However, all the translations are there when I go "into" the widget.

    If this is also the case on your device, when you set it to Dutch or any other language, then there's obviously a general issue with the translations.
