Reboot loop to use gps

A few days ago my Fenix 6 Pro stopped being able to track my runs and find a GPS signal. After some research I tried restarting the watch, my phone, doing a total factory reset of the watch and nothing worked. I even installed Garmin express on my Mac and when I tried plugging in my watch to the computer, express couldn’t find that the watch was plugged in. For the past couple of days I have kept my watch plugged in and I have restarted it numerous times, but now after I updated every time I try to set a run it tells me to reboot in order to use GPS. This loops now every time I try to use a workout. Can anyone help….?

I got in touch with Garmin tech support and they got my to send my watch in so that they can replace it for a new one. I would recommend that.

I am facing similar issue, but i could get it to update by pluggin it in to use Garmin Express, then it would update, but my issue is, it asks me to update every few days.....wondered how did you get in touch with Garmin?

It's been a while from the last reply but... I have the same issue with my Fenix 6. Anyone manage to fix this issue?

I had to have my replaced in the end.... but mine was a firmware update that messed it up.

It is the firmware update that impose this issue for me as well. It is clearly since at the About screen version of the GPS i 0.00 and it keeps asking me for the reboot anytime I start an activity. However, my watch is not under the warranty so... :(

I'm having a similar problem with a 6s Sapphire where it said it needed a reboot to use GPS despite working fine earlier on that day and the previous day. I tried connecting it to Garmin Express as suggested here and that fixed it for a couple of days but then it reverted to the same problem so I raised with Garmin who said it was normal the GPS would need rebooted from time to time (although I don't recall ever seeing this message before) although when I said this wasn't normal, they raised a request so I could return it an pay for a refurb.

Just after that though the watch received an update and the GPS seemed to be consistently working again but then a couple of days ago when I tried to use GPS, I was shown the reboot message. However unlike before when I did reboot it later, it showed an animation with an arrow in a spinning cog after which GPS seems to have worked again when I've checked it but suspect it's going to let me down again.

Has anyone had this issue and the watch has returned to normal?
