Garmin Fenix 6 sapphire with Concept 2 PM5 doesn't receive power data from trainer

While using Row indoor with Concept 2 PM5 there is 99% time power data equal 0. There is 5-6 times peaks with power data as on PM5 and again 0 during 30min. Is it possible to correct this bug?

  • Since the row indoor activity does not pick up distance it can not do power. I suggest the following use Ergdata on your phone to connect to your PM5, and connect your HRM chest strap to both the PM5 and watch. Then start the row indoor activity on your watch, do your rowing activity, and have Concept 2 logbook send the activity to Garmin Connect. While this will result in two entries it will update all the performance metrics on your Garmin Connect like training effect, intensity etc.

  • No, that's not correct. As long as you add the PM5 as a sensor then Row Indoor activities should record power (along with distance, strokes, and other metrics). You don't need to use the ErgData app unless you also want your activity automatically uploaded to the Concept2 log book.

If it's not working reliably then try updating the PM5 firmware. But otherwise the power meter in that rower might be defective.

Here is an activity that I recorded on my watch showing a good power chart.
