On a recent run i noticed that the trails and roads i was on had disappointingly disappeared. i can still see main roads but all the detailed trail and bridle path data has gone.
Garmin support suggested its my Mac or security settings but nothing has changed except downloading the numerous updates. I have tried alternative login methods and reinstalled express and maps but nothing works
Does anyone have any suggestion?
When you install to the watch from Garmin Express the maps are first cached to your PC/Mac before then being copied to your watch. If you try to reinstall maps the cached copies are reused without downloading again. If your cached copies are corrupted then reinstall won't help. You'll need to remove the cached copies and then start from scratch with fresh downloads.
Also, have you checked that your maps are enabled on the watch and the detail level is appropriate? Maybe something got turned off or downgraded by accident.
The cached files aren't from your browser. They are (in Windows at least) saved into a hidden folder structure on your system drive.
Note that on my system I do not have the Topoactive maps cached, only golf and ski.
