Navigation prompts are completely random. First I though the watch will prompt you when you ride away from the "main road" (whatever that might be classified as). Then I thought it's when a turn is at least 90 degrees. But after riding tens if not hundreds of hours using navigation, I came to a conclusion that it's completely arbitrary - some turns garmin feels like informing about and some doesn't. And sometimes it tells me to turn (e.g. at a switchback) when there's literally no other way to go. Thanks Garmin, I was about to smash myself against a barrier, but you saved my life!
There isn't even a setting that could increase the verbosity/sensitivity/whatever it should be to let me know which way should I ride at ANY crossroad, not just the few which the watch decided to tell me about
