955 feautres (Fenix 7 is getting everything)

I just saw dc video and Garmin just release beta fw for the fenix 7 with all (except morning report) features from 955. Anyone know if this is going to happen for our fenix 6?

  • Fenix 6X and I updated to Alpha 22.73 a week ago.

It looks like some of those features are in Aalpha but not notified. Acute Training Load, VO2 Max 4 week view in widget, Added a Reference Point app. In Connect Mobile I have new menu for HRV Status.

In My Day in Connect in Edit my day I can see Training Readiness.

My assumption is that what can be implemented will be in the next release. Download 22.73 Alpha and have a look for yourself if you can’t wait.

  • Just because they're there is no guarantee they'll be coming for the F6 as they would also need to be there to support the F7, 255 and 955 etc.

  • To all people complaining about Garmin not updating older device: i feel you and i'm with you, but it's their business model, this or probably we would get a subscription model, because if there's no software incentive to upgrade and give em money, they would seek money elsewere.

  • Garmin Tactix Delta and Fenix 6 is STILL sold on their store as new watches. They are even sold with a high price! Your statement makes sense if the products were NOT on the store and was labeled as out of service or something like that. Apple doesn't sell iPhone 6S anymore. iPhone 6S got updates way longer than people expected so that way Apple beats Garmin.

If Garmin sells the watches as NEW and at a high price, they should update them with the newest features. I understand that some features can require new HW, but many of the features (if not all) from the new 255 can be run on the Fenix 6!

Its just no excuse from Garmin! They sell old stuff as new and don't update it. That's not OK!

  • Apple is selling you an ecosystem, they want you to buy everything apple so you can be invested in their brand, macs as pc, ipad as tablet, apple watch as watch. This way you'll use their app store and spend money in it, apple tv subscription, now even fitness subscription. They have plenty of ways to earn their money other than selling you hardware, so they give you full software upgrades as much as possible.

Garmin just sells you the hardware and gives you updates until the new watch comes out.

Fenix 6 and tactix are sold as they are, they're not selling you malfunctioning or useless watches, they're selling you watches with less features than the new, with a lower price than the new, is the lower price low enough for you to not care for the fewer functionality they have over the fenix 7? If yes you buy it, if not you buy the fenix 7.

I mean, i'm with you with wanting all the new features on my fenix 6, but i also know i don't want a subscription model to compensate for the amount of people not buying the fenix 7 because they have the same features in their older model.
