I have been testing my Fenix 6 pro solar I bought off ebay a couple of weeks ago with my Apple watch 7 45mm.

For the last few days I have been testing my Fenix against the AW7. The AW7 is running the developer version of the latest watch OS 9 and the Iphone is running IOS 16 beta 1.

The sleep tracking of the Garmin at least to me appears to be more accurate and detailed that the aw7 and autosleep, the Garmin detects micro awakenings and restlessness which the aw7 fails to detect.

I have insomnia and although in partial recovery do suffer from early awaking and trouble getting back to sleep though lately I can usually manage it, I have found the Garmin to be far more detailed in sleep reports and more accurate at detecting when I fall asleep. I think this is because the Garmin has the ability to track heart rate every second where as the Apple watch can sometimes take up to ten mins to take a reading due to not having per second accuracy. I have also found the Garmin to be less stressful with my insomnia sleep tracking for some unknown reason.

I would like to see nap tracking on the Garmin as the Apple watch supports this and the Garmin doesn't. Please add this Garmin even if its manually activated.

After testing the heart rate of the Garmin during exercise and recovery against the aw7 ecg I found the sensor to be perfectly accurate to with 1/3 bpm and far more accurate than my cheap Chinese finger pulse ox although the ox was more accurate giving 99% compared to the Garmin 98% although the Garmin is def more accurate than the AW7 on both pulse ox and Breath per min consistently.

The Gps on the Garmin reads exactly the same as the aw to me anyway with both measuring the same distance to the decimal point with the Garmin set on GPS and Galileo.

Battery on the Garmin blows Apple out of the water, the Garmin lasts days longer even with one hour of GPS exercise, 24/7 hr and pulse ox tracking, the Apple watch can do 36hrs at a push with all background activity off the lowest brightness and Siri listening disabled to crown activation only.

I will be using the Garmin now as my daily driver and the AW7 may end up with a new home soon.
