Fenix 6 Pro with RD Pod. Stride Length broken after Firmware 21.00 Update

Anyone else using a Fenix 6 Pro with a RD Pod?

Running Dynamics was working perfectly prior to the 21.00 Update. After the update my Stride length either stays around 50cm for the entire run, or over 3 meters for the entire run....or simply does not record any data at all. All other aspects of Running Dynamics work fine (except for vertical ratio, which is tied to Stride length)

The RD pod continues to work perfectly, including measuring stride length, tested on a Fenix 5s

I have seen Garmin acknowledge the battery life issue (not impacting me) but have yet to see anyone else with this stride length issue.

Seems to be some mentions of something similar with the 945

Our engineering team hopes to get the issue resolved by the end of the current software cycle that is currently in the Beta phase.

Our engineers are still working on a software fix for this concern. They are hoping to have this resolved with the Q1 public software release, likely by early May.

From what I've seen this has been going on for over a year. In past posts the Garmin rep Chris has said it has been corrected in other models but has been left out of the Fenix 6 updates for an unknown reason. I have come to the conclusion that Garmin will not update it in hopes users will update to the Fenix 7 or other model. I won't be! If this is what Garmin has become then I'll be looking elsewhere for my next fitness device. Besides Garmin doesn't even have all the features in one watch that I would purchase at this point and most likely never will. Guess it's by design hoping you will purchase more than one. So I'll keep enduring so called updates that don't fix problems that I have spent more money to have avaliable in my stats, Run Dynamics Pod. Garmin you have lost a long time customer over not offering appropriate support for what was a nice product.

When I asked for an update, I was advised the fix that was put in place on the fitness segment Forerunner series side first is still coming to the Fenix 6 series too. My sincere apologies it is taking a long time.

Garmin you are to slow to fix this bug. I paid $100 for it and the stride length is incorrect, always 40cm

Using a Garmin HRM, first detachable pod version, rather than a Polar H9 gave me correct stride dynamics data with the RD pod for a recent race. I will have to do further testing. Strangely, the RD pod gave a low battery warning via the watch on the start line. However, post race in Garmin Connect it indicates that the battery is full. As others have said it puts me off spending money on Garmin products in the future!

No, I am not part of Beta Program. But if it is not included in the change log, I am sure it will not be solved, as with FW 26.0

Anyway, this was already reported from a long time (since FW 21.0 I think) as explained in this tread and Chris from Garmin has already said, they are working of it, so no new bug

Correct. The last time I directly asked to ensure the issue has continued forward to be resolved, I was advised the issue will be resolved.
