After 21.00 update cant connect or pair via bluetooth to phone

Hi everyone

Sunce I got lastest update for my Fenix 6 basis. I have trouble with bluetooth connectivity.

First in the morning I couldnt sync via Garmin connect, as if watch was didnt have bluetooth turned on.

Restarting watch and phone didnt help.

Then I removed device, but after that I couldnt pair it again.

Reinstalled Connect app on phone, didnt help either. It look like it finds device at first, but once you click connect, it runs indefinitely, or says unsuccesfull, with no pairing number prompt to appear...

Later in the day I tried to sync via Garmin Express, and it didnt work either, it sync almost until end, and then says it couldnt sync.

Did anyone had similar issue before, or did anyone had issue since 21.00 upgrade?

Is there way to try to fix it without factory reset of the watch yet?

I've been having the same problem since update 21. (Fenix 6)

I have to turn off/on Bt on the phone to make it sync. However, after a day, the watch stops connecting to the phone.

I manage to work around and sync my data for last 2 days.But it is not real solution for me.

I used my old phone Samsung A8 with Android 9, instead of A52 with android 12.

I used same version of Garmin Connect, I m not sure what bluetooth version do they have, but definitely there is some issue with bluetooth connectivity with newer Android

Hello,

I have the same issue with Fenix 6s and IOS.

After 21.00 upgrade, Garmin Connect App on phone doesn't connect to the watch with bluetooth. The only way to update activites on app is to synchronise the watch with wifi.

Did you find a solution ?

Same here. I'm having issues since last week and no way to connect it. I've reset it and I've also tried in a different phone.

I was thinking my watch got defective but it looks like a broad software issue as there are a lot of reports here in different threads and in Reddit.

I am not sure I have the same issue, I would describe mine differently. After a little while, about a day, the watch stop to sync and get weather forecasts. For the the culprit is the Connect Mobile App. I kid that app on my iPhone, restart it, and things are back to normal. The mobile app have caused similar issues in the past. But no need to reboot the phone or watch to fix it. However annoying to have to do it regularly.

My issue seems resolved, but I'm not sure what fixed it really.

- I used Garmin Express which updated the watch software again and the maps. Restarted watch.
- Deleted the BT connection on the phone then added the watch again.

Since then it's been working OK, no BT disconnects.

Same issue here. It started with an update of ANT/BLE/BT to Version 6.15.

I have to manually restart Bluetooth on my phone to get it working for some time, before it happens again.

Also deleting BT connection on the phone and re-adding it, is only a temporary fix.

same issue here.. we definately face some kind of BT software issue on wathces. mine even can't connect a BT headphones. and looks like it's not a hardware issue, since wi-fi module works ok (I guess it's same hardware as BT)
