Is there a way to turn off Recovery Time notifications?

I have a Fenix 6 Pro (software 20.60)

I was in the middle of work and I got this notification /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/431/IMG_5F00_4156.jpeg

Needless to say this distracted me.

How can I turn it off permanently (this notification has no value to me)?

Looks like I'm not the first one having this problem forums.garmin.com/.../how-do-i-disable-recovery-time-notifications

  • I contacted Garmin support, here's their answer:

    Hello spg,

Thanks for you patience as I look into this question. There is currently no way to pause those notifications. We do have a feature request ticket open for this issue, I will get you added to the ticket but I cannot guarantee that it will be implemented. I am sorry about the inconvenience.

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,

  • No, there's absolutely no way to turn it off. I've been down this road. Garmin doesn't care. In addition to not having any value, notifications (in general) can be really annoying when you're trying to work, for example. In my opinion, there should not be any notifications that cannot be disabled.

  • I remember someone kicking up a huge fuss about these maybe a year back but it seems most of us never saw these.

I never have seen them in 15 months.

But I agree - should be possible to turn off.

Notifications I find generally irritating so I completely disable them from being pushed from my phone. but if these are device generated which logically they are that wouldn't help in this case.

  • My biggest pain is that even if I make notifications silent at “not during activities” the recovery  time notifications pops up with a vibe.

Similarly to Storm Alert on which there is no effect of sound/vibe/both/silent settings (because they are about smart notifications coming from the phone).

But unlike Storm Alert, which can be disabled, the bl@@dy Recovery Time notifications cannot be killed off.

Moreover I get those RT notifications  between 22:00-23:00, so just before the start of my sleep window (=do not disturb window). I dont want to modify the start of these windows from 23:00 to 22:00, because it would mean false sleep detection regularly.

So maybe I should set DND for the whole day, but it would have an adverse effect on the watchface I use. And I dont want to completely switch off vibe at settings/sound, because I am afraid of not having vibe during activities.
