Fenix 6 Pro: counting steps when Not moving

Always had this ,… if I forget to pause an activity such as a Hike or Walk, when you sit still, the miles will still clock up as will steps…. I guess it’s suggesting with wandering GPS data?

definitely no, I have no activity running and it is not counting up the steps all the time, that happens only from time to time,e.g. today I was walnking down the stairs to leave the house. Of course steps were counted, but when I stopped and kept standing at the front door with not moving at all the step counting went on. I watched it via Garmin Connect on my phone for about 200 steps then moved my left arm and the counting stopped.

steps are collecting and not shown at once - battery saving - so you you can see "old steps"

but of course after a few minutes without any move (or shaking/trembling of hand steps are calculating probably by accelerometer - its very sensitive you shouldn't see next steps

actually if you sit down, then you should look at the watch, when the next time (less than 60 seconds) the minute changes you should see the steps updated, but if you continue to sit after that you're not supposed to see additional steps

I can sit for minutes and it is counting up steps. My Fenix is also counting steps in the night. Normally, when I get up in the morning I start the day with already about 25000 - 30000 steps on my Fenix.

that definitely sounds like a HW bug, I think you should connect the customer support for a replacement

WOOOW what's your goal for the day set to?? I get those in 48 hours....

This is not normal at all, it happens that I get up with few steps myself sometime but never seen more than a few 10s at most.

Either you (massively) sleep walk, or more probably... you have a faulty accelerometer in your watch. Sorry.
