Fenix 6x Pro now going in to Power save mode at random since 20.60

Since upgrading to 20.60 my watch keeps flipping to power save without me selecting it… also randomly a double press of the back button will change to power save mode, any ideas why, seems no way to turn this off/prevent it. Never happened pre 20.60 update?

EDIT: Just added this from todays Heartrate data - you can see circled in yellow where the watch flipped to low power mode - Perhaps I temporarily exit the low power mode to be the same as ‘normal’ so it doesn’t change anything - i never use low power mode anyways

could it be related to a 3rd Paty watch face ? i do not see this behavior with my 6 pro and have ben running 20.60 for a couple of weeks now.

Thanks for that, confirms a: I’m not going mad and b: Others are getting the same issue.. I would hoped Garmin would have cleared this up as 20.60 is an official release not a beta. I’ve not gone near 20.82 yet, but i have already tried a factory reset. The result of that, is the the power save mode issue is still present but the time between it happening at random seems to have extended i.e. now more than 4+ hours between the issue occurring.

@Pierrotsc - I’m using a default Garmin watch face having removed 3rd party previously before the recent 20.60 update, but good suggestion. I do have other CQC apps such as AirQuality monitor and Battery Gauge. Other than random power save mode change, I’m not experiencing any obvious power drain.

FYI - My Fenix 6x Pro is about 18 months old now, if it continues, I may call Garmin and get them to swap it under their 2Yr warranty?

No, it is a bug being present for a long time. When I reported it saying that I was on 19.20, fellow users corrected me that this bug was present not just last autumn, but ealier,too.

When I reported it properly to Garmin's Outdoor Support it happened nothing I was told nothing. When I repeated my question I was said I was not on latest firmware (in the meantime 20.30 and 20-50 had been published).

And they play these silly games even if everybody at Garmin knows - by now even the night porter, too - that there was no fix.

Thanks Tisztul_A_Visztula - Good to know, i never had it before now … I may try 20.82 a bit later this evening, otherwise, I’ll be calling Garmin support in the morning for a replacement !

Just posted a pic showing when today its flipped mode without my knowledge… other times I’ve seen it happen, seems to do it automatically after tracking a sport activity *or going in to the activity menu selecting any activity then backing out

I even sent a video to Support back in January. I got a big thank you, but silence then.

In case of my other bug report with pics, explanation and a referral to the thread dealing with that bug, I got an answer 2.5 months ago after my strong push “that case was closed, because I was the only one who reported”.

So you should not have a high hope and trust in them.

I just created a new ticket this morning with the UK Support team - They have asked me to 'write' in with the details. Watch still changing without notice to 'Battery Saver' mode

I'll do that now and see where we get .... ‍
