Hi Folks,
I'm curious about the difference between the HR zones and the power zones in Garmin Connect. HR zones are 5 zones, where the power zones have 7 zones. From my coach I receive 5 HR Zones and also 5 Zones for power. I know my FTP value and my Lactate Threshholds, how do I calculate the correct power zones for the 7 zone model?
Currently, I've set the first 5 power zones so that they match the first 5 Zones from my coach, but I have the impression that Garmin thinks I'm constantly training in the low zones and therefore doesn't calculate my training status right, I hardly receive anaerobic scores.
I'd like to get this right, so I'm guessing that Garmin and the Firstbeat Algorithm behind it are using the Coggan 7 Zone Model, which would match the zone count.
Any suggestions?
