Fenix 6 pro button and case wear

Hello, Garmin fans and support, end of June 2021 I got a gift from my girlfriend - Fenix 6 Pro.

Really love it, but a month back noticed that the buttons and case is starting to wear out (the dark colour is gone). On this forum I found some colleagues with the same pain, so right away I tried contacting my local Garmin shop, they contacted Garmin support, but they without any questions rejected the complaint as wear and tear. The shop which contacted the manufacturer level told that there is no arguing, as they contacted the manufacturer and their decision is final. I don't agree with that.

In the link below we have one user with the same problem, usage a little less than mine, his Fenix was replaced, so I don't see it as a fair situation!

Here are photos from my watch. Is it really wear and tear?

I wear it daily and use it for running and for some gym activities, but I cannot believe that Germans made so weak top coating.

Any comments would be really appreciated.

I don't know what are you talking about... maybe circle the area in th epicture that you think has a wear

The problem is with edges. I tried to mark it for more understanding. For new watch buttons and case were totally black, now only the surface is black, the colour from edges has come off.

It's probably not what you're looking for, but you could try something like a protective TPU case. It is not pretty but prevents further rubbing off of the black coating and you don't see existing scratches and blank spots anymore either. And the raised edge helps protect the screen.

It could be from lemon oil in the hand cream, for example.
It is quite a strong solvent.

Except that it's on the "wrong" side of the watch :)

To me it looks like physical "scratching". Maybe the sleeves of the clothes that you wear above the watch do it, at least that's what i think judging from the place (edges)

Clear. Well, I must say it is disappointing. It is not some fancy watch, but really a sports watch, meaning, that it should endure harsh usage conditions, sweat (which also consists of NaCl and I know for sure that salt is evil), rain and so on. Edges of clothing damaging the paint sounds reasonable, however, then again, a question arises - from what material that watch was made - hopes and dreams or robust material, which can handle all the offered sporting activities. :)

If it so, and thats just how weak the coating is, then I don't see much difference from smart watches and instead maybe Apple Watch is better choice.

Several years of 24x7 usage and my watch is still like new. UPDATE: I have a DLC / Sapphire version.

I know a guy who has an Apple Watch. He was hammering some wood one day and the case just popped open and all the Apple Watch guts fell out. He was able to glue to back together, but yea, that's your Apple Watch quality. That plus the fact he has to charge it every. single. night.

But sure, a bit of coating's rubbed off, change vendors :)

My F5 was a standard one like yours F6 and got a similar problem.my conclusion was that the culprit was the constant rubbing of the clothes when the sleeves go up on the arm. In the 6 switched to DLC version and never got the problem.
