When hiking or kayaking on streams I usually pre-load a map with my intended route before heading out. The map on the watch is useless when paddling or hiking and I only need a visual symbol to know that I am on the right path at a glance. What I would like is for the compass face to have two arrows (one green the other red) the Green arrow would point to the path I have programmed so if I get turned around in the dark or something the arrow will always point in the direction I should continue walking to stay on path. The red arrow would point directly to the Waypoint I am going to so that if I approach a fork in the path or stream I can quickly confirm that the fork I have plotted is the correct one because the waypoint is on that side and if not I know to pause and check my paper map to determine if it was GPS signal issue, or an error in my plotting, or perhaps a new/uncharted path, before continuing down the wrong path, which on a river with lowhead dams could be a fatal error.
