How long would that take to report windsurf activity to fenix 6 ( from fenix 7 )

New in Garmin eco system I am quite surprised it takes sooooo long to report a custom activity, like windsurf, offered by fenix 7 and not yet visible in fenix 6X, not even mentionned in beta firmware.

Windsurf, or speed nautic, activity is not just a duplicate like gravel bike for bike, we needs specific calculated measures, nautic mile and not km, knots, VMax 2s, 10s, at least 500m and nautic mile, and some add successful jybe ( 180 turn around at a minimal speed, parameter, like 8 knots on foil for instance )

I am even suprised it is not yet provided by garmin for years on all devices.

I miss my Coros for that, Windsurf has been provided quickly. While available in fenix 7, still waiting that specific activity in fenix 6 :(

I wish Garmin be more devops oriented, with continuous delivery ;) ( Coros is great on that point )

no guarantee it will ever be ported to the F6 range.

thank you jaamgans, I use this one, https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/9d47be43-2724-44e4-8f5e-3005b0766087, more windsurf oriented, great app, but the ergonomy is not the same as 'garmin activities', and specific data are not fully included in garmin connect.

Moreover in 2022 it should not be a "user application" but a real garmin activity with a specific view in Garmin Connect

I can not share here screen capture of what coros offers from 2020 ! but it's perfect, activity details in coros mobile app are great. Feature implemented with selected windsurfer / tester.

Moreover it was easy to export fit or gpx from coros mobile app to use another dedicated windsurf speed app ( with deep analysis ). Which is not possible with garmin connect mobile app ( which is another complaint subject )

about the port to fenix 6, I thought I read it somewhere. :) Once again, Coros brings new features to all "compatible" watches, from pace ( 2 ) to vertix ( 2 ). I still hope it will come from 7 to 6

Wind surfing was unofficially announced for the fenix 6 in a Fenix 7 review by DCrainmaker. But nobody knows when it will come.

I have been using the JMG wind-kite surfing app from the connect IQ store on my Fenix 6 and previously on my Fenix 5. I only use a fraction of its extensive functionality but it is a brilliant app. The developer is also very responsive to suggestions.

I am also awaiting Kiteboard to be added to Fenix 6. Actually all new activities that were introduced with Fenix 7 at launch(e.g. Snowshoe, Pickleball, Tennis, etc.) are already available for Fenix 6 except Windusrf and Kiteboard. And those 2 differ only in name I assume. I don't know why is this "discrimination" to water sports from Garmin side I know there are substitutes from CIQ, but none is on the level of Garmin native activities. So please Garmin - make those available to Fenix 6, they do not require new sensors or fields even!

If we can change the type of "other" activity permanently, it wouldn't be a problem.
