How to DISABLE Auto Upload Activities?

I want to DISABLE automatic upload activities from my Fenix 6 to Garmin Connect mobile.

That is, I do NOT want my Fenix 6 to upload activities if the Garmin Connect Mobile app is NOT running.

When I set the toggle to OFF it resets itself and flips back ON.

What do I need to do to make sure this Auto Upload Activities toggle remains OFF?

When a cloud service is developed, the main copy of the info must reside one place and the other locations are slaves. It is common architecture. So the service works fine with multiple devices linked…

Depending on what sort of watch you have, the Watch will also try to sync your workouts up to Garmin Connect via Wifi as well. I don't think you can turn this off, short of removing all Wifi networks from the watch.

In your settings, Wifi> Status = Off, Auto Upload = Off should disable this.

Thanks. But Garmin Connect Mobile resets this toggle to on (see image above). Thus, my question in this forum.

And the same thing happens with my Edge 530.

Personally, I am more annoyed by the fact that all my activities have to be uploaded before I can see them on my phone or on my watch. Why the hell, I cannot just have this feature offline. Garmin should change this.

Sorry, I was responding to muppetman's specific quoted comment.

I have no idea why your app keeps resetting. I turned this setting to Off in the Garmin Connect app today, and it has remained off. All I can suggest is to change BOTH your 530 and F6 to off.

umm, they are viewable on the watch without uploading. Use the Last Activity widget.

As for the phone, I'm not sure how else you expect your activities to get on your phone without uploading???

Directly on Bluetooth. Between watch and phone, how else.

The app and the online features are linked. The app gets the data from online, and so I don't think this is possible. For a start, a lot of the processing of the data takes place online.

So the service works fine with multiple devices linked to the same device, the truth is in the cloud. All devices related to the account, be it phone with the mobile app or wearable devices, get their data from the cloud. The watch happen to be a recording devices as well, but then upload that to the cloud which syncs back your history to all devices. The mobile app only play the role of a conduit between the watch and the cloud. That is the proper way to do cloud services. Having multiple masters always make problematic designs.

That is my main problem. I had enough of online data hoardings. We must know, you must consent, you must agree...." NO thank you. That idiot Garmin explore also just a pile of junk. First "Garmin Explore requires Google Play Services, Which is not supported by your device...." You don't say, I am rooted and running on a custom firmware without Google's junk. I really hate google. Wish that MS would still have WM on the market.
