Are only 3 custom activities possible??

Is the limit for custom activities only 3 on the F6X?? I have 3 of them already, and when i try to create a 4th one, the watch tells me i it cannot save it and i should delete another one and try again.

Update to spare you from reading the whole thread: There is a limit of 60 activities (activity profiles) and also not installed activities count against that limit. There is currently no way of deleting the not installed activities from the watch. In the latest firmware (20.87 Beta) we are now down to only 2 custom activities. With Garmin adding more and more activities, soon custom activities will not be possible anymore at all, if this issue is not resolved.

Update 29.04.2022: Garmin confirmed that they do not acknowledge this as an issue. If you would like to add more custom activities, please request to Garmin to increase the limit or to enable us to delete unused profiles. Refer to https://www.garmin.com/ideas to submit your wish to Garmin. There is currently nothing else we can do.

Update 15.08.2022: Back in June, Garmin acknowledged the problem and agreed to deliver a fix. In August, Garmin gave the update that they plan to increase the total limit to 60 in the Q4 feature release (so somewhere end of this year).

It is not a limitation, it is a bug.
Unfortunately, GARMIN has not yet come up with a solution.
Just the usual: "Do a reset".

I found that if I add all the activities first then copy all the apps I need I can only copy a few...

When I got my new watch I copied all the apps I needed 13 copied apps first ....then added all the available garmin apps and it works fine, but I think if I deleted a copy fully from the watch now.. I won't be able to copy it again, even after a master reset, almost like the watch is retaining fragments of info when perhaps it shouldn't.

I would happily uninstall most profiles, as i only use very few of them. Problem is, that I cannot uninstall them, because Garmin Connect does not list them as installed. And installing and then uninstalling also does not help.

When I connect my watch to my PC, i see that the fit files for all profiles (also not installed ones) are on my watch. Maybe the problem is somewhere hidden here. Has anybody tried to delete these fit files from the watch from the PC? Do you think this would be safe to do? Somehow, I have the feeling that the watch will just re-create them... I do not have my PC with me currently, so I cannot try right now.

I found that workouts on Fenix 6 are limited to 13, on my previous 645 was 25, now only 13, it's very annoying

Why are you trying to fix a buck here.
That is GARMIN's job.
If the watch does not work after a factory reset, just send the watch back.

The activities that have not yet been installed are an integral part of the current software, you cannot delete them. They will be created again immediately.
You can simply delete the ones you installed from the folder.
Just try it and make a backup before. What is the problem?

Moreover if you copy activities from other watch like I did, from 5+ to 6x, then the target Fenix will keep both, I mean eg. the original builtin Run app of 6x and the copied Run app, which was a builtin app on 5+. I tried many ways to get rid of the copied ones including using Shift+Del as a way of permanent delete in Windows.

Yes, this can happen even when updating from 19.20 to 20.00 only with the F6.

Yes, no chance, you can only completely recreate the activities.

No, this is not normal, says the support. Unfortunately, it is the same for me. No solution until now.
