Favero Assiomia Duo Shi with Fenix 6 X Pro - No Ant + connection & No Cycling Dynamics

Hi Everyone,

I've seen a lot of post here trying to resolved the lack of Cycling Dynmics with Favero Assiomia.

Although I have not seen anyone asking the question with Favero assiomia Duo Shi which is thh spindle for Shimano pedals. here are my issues:

1. The pedal cannot connect as Ant + on my garmin fenix 6 X pro, it only gives me the option of bluetooth (the watch doesn't come up with the Ant+ signal when search for new accessories). I have tried to disconnect the pedal from my Fenix 6 X pro multiple times, no resolve. I have also enabled Dual or unified channel in the Favero app, but still gives me either one unify Bluetooth pedal or 2 bluetooth channels. the weird bit is that connecting onto zwift, I can see both Bluetooth and Ant +, so looks like the pedal works, somehow no way of detecting the Ant+ signal on the Fenix 6 X pro. So weird.

2. I cannot get any other measures than power and cadence probably cause I cannot connect by Ant+ I'm guessing. None of the cycling dynamics are visible like power phase, torque effectivness....

I have read that for cycling GPS like the 830, cycling dynamics needed to be activited, as turned off by default, but on wathches I understand there isn't the ability to do that and that cycling dynamics should work straight away.

Can anyone please help to resolve, this seems to be na ok product for the moneym but as of now otther than just showing power numbers this product is pretty useless to me and I might have to return it, if I can....

Thanks a lot for the help of the community,

Max.

  • Cycling Dynamics is only available on ANT+ and not only BT, so solving problem 1 should solve problem 2.

    My suggestion would be to:

    1. Turn the BT connection between your phone and the F6 off, on the F6. This should prevent historical sensor connections being re-imported. Also, if you are using a smart trainer for Zwift, you may want to unplug it, to prevent this being detected as a power meter by the watch.

    2. Delete the current Power Meter pairing on the F6.

    3. Connect the Assioma's to Zwift over BT.

    4. Search for a new power meter sensor on the F6. As the BT channel has been taken by Zwift in step 3, only ANT+ should be available now. You may need to rotate the pedals to wake them up (watch for the orange lights).

Once paired, you should be good to go.

  • Thank you. Sounds like a good idea to lock the BT channel somewhere else. I'll try this hope it works. Still feels it should just work without messing around  Thanks

  • I use both duo shi and the look duo pedals withouth any of that issues. Duo shi on my outdoor bike and look duo on the indoor. Both with ant+

  • (SOLVED)
So I had tried a lot of times to remove the sensors and this did not help. I also tried to connect the power meter in bluetooth to another channel but this did not work as then I could not discover the power meter at all.
The issue that stopped the Ant+ signal to be seen by my Fenix was that I had the power meter from my indoor trainer Kickr core which had been paired with my Fenix 6 X pro. For some reason when I came up with the idea to remove the Kickr core Ant+ sensor from my fenix sensor library, suddenly my Favero's pedal Ant+ signal could be seen, but only then.
I am glad that I can now use the pedals, and I am happy they work exactly as expected so thank you for the great product. However I must confess that I do not feel I should have to unpair my Indoor trainer Ant+ connection in order to connect my favero power pedal. This now means I will need to keep pairing and unpairing each power sensor every time I use one or the other, not really ideal... I have used 2 identical garmin Heart rate monitors in the past and was able to connect them both in Ant+ without having to pair or unpair one another.
I have contacted Favero directly too on the issue, they replied but their answer did not reolve the issue. the answer above was the answer to resolve.
