Our next beta version for the Fenix 6 series is now available!

Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device.

20.41 Change Log Notes:

Updated the software update process to allow the user to defer the installation. This replaces the automatic install during the user's sleep window.
Improved altitude calibration.
Fixed intermittent issue where device would freeze when starting a round of golf.
Fixed issue that would cause device shutdown when editing HIIT data fields.
Fixed issue where the device would create empty golf scorecards.
Fixed issue where the activity timer could be enabled on the Map-App. (Pro models)

Here's hoping it fixes the issues with scoring when using the Golf app - that's been around for years.

I was hoping this beta was bringing the functions discussed around as being rolled back from Fenix 7... Will this be in 20.42 any time soon? Like... tomorrow or before?

Only reason to possibly install this for me would actually be the presence of the device usage widget that I enjoy using, is this present?

Device usage widget is available in all Beta builds, so it should be in this.

There has been one where it was not there (20.04 to memory) but in fact that was only for a correction attempt to the altimeter...

Just installed 20.41 on my Fenix 6X Pro Solar Titanium and the Device Usage widget is there. It would be nice to have in also in production releases. Especially for the user who have these odd battery drainage problems.

In fact I don't understand why such simple diagnostic tool is not available on the production releases... Also, being as I interpret it meant to keep track of the batteri consumers, in my opinion is lacking one important bit... Vibration! Could keep track of how many bursts, or how many milliseconds, the motor is active. Plus... Active bluetooth data transfer, to account for the number of syncs and number of notifications exchanger with the phone... But maybe would become too complex, IDK

Probably because for it to gather stats, hooks have to be inserted into various parts of the code that slow down performance and take up more memory to keep counters etc. In other words, it's a debugging tool and is only enabled when the "beta" flag is set when it's built. Also it's not documented in the manual anywhere, so for the majority of people who get these builds OTA and have never been near the Garmin forums nor know anything about Beta builds, it would be confusing for them what exactly it was if they found it in the settings.

Ow ok, that all make sense. Apart from the fact that I seem to remember a user mentioning that it was mentioned in the manual of the Fenix 7 (in fact the guy was asking what this widget was )

Pity though... To me it did not seem to have impact on performances, at least not a noticeable one, when I had it..

I'll install this too soon.

A prayer for any future release..i think easy to code and implement: incoming calls should keep the watch vibrating till I do something! Only once.. I miss the call since I think it's message or else not urgent. Only me?

I agree, only 1 vibration is not useful
