Dear Garmin please read weight from Apple Health. It shouldn't be difficult to add as a feature. I have all my wight-in in another scale that I use since 9 years and i'm not willing to change it ;)

It’s been raised before, very much a case of Garmin getting you to but their Index scales. Best work around is download MyFitnessPal, that links to health app, and Garmin Connect so transfers across..…
exactly. The point is that they could just read weight via Garmin Connect iPhone app and update it as if where doing it manually. Easy to do. Yes the whole point is to use Apple Health as a automatic proxy…
If Garmin wants to access to Apple data, Garmin needs the permission of Apple and I think Apple has its own policies to restrict what information can be shared.
well there's an API for that in HealthKit so it seems possible to me
I think you know more than me as I'm not a developer or programmer although I think they still need an interface between applications to read the data using the apple API you pointed me and send it to whatever place you want to see that data display. That's my understanding . Probably I'm totally wrong
I'm a Developer. To register for Apple HealthKit usage and request for a specific data access take 5-10' testing included, even less if they already have some sort of Health integration. As soon as the app requests that data for the first time (and first only) a popup appears to the user who may allow or deny the access. It's all managed by the system.
The only reason for Garmin not to read the weight from the centralised platform is not to let the user integrates the two platforms effortlessly. Obviously data is automatically fetched in Connect while using Garmin's scale.
exactly. That's why I think they have all the pieces already :) That's why i don't see any reason no to do it ( apart from commercial one)
There's probably a bit of walled garmin garden going on here indeed. ONLY Garmin Index scales are allowed to write data other than weight into Garmin Connect. At least this is how it was. And it works. I switched from Withings to Garmin. It's sad, but it's not going to change I'm afraid.
Maybe there are some politics behind the scene. I'm not defending anyone, just speculating..

This is a very very valid point. GCM already is reading and writing other info to Apple Health so why not the weight. In any case as they already said workaround via MyFitnessPal
Fully agree.
I know Apple is considering closing off Health Kit to SW that is one way only - like Garmin connect. The whole point of Health Kit was interoperability.
Garmin has ALWAYS been bad at operability with other brands. That is why there is no "watch" integration on indoor gym equipment for Garmin watches - only Samsung/Apple etc are supported.
But this is not the correct forum for those comments. It should be in the Mobile Apps forum(s)
