GPS firmware wont update Garmin fenix 6 pro

Hi all.

I keep getting messages on my less than a month old fenix "GPS software updated" every time i press the stop/start buttone  but the version number (4.40) does not change. (19.20 Firmware)

What i have tried so far:

1 -Tried to update from system/updates : says preparing update --> restarting no luck same version number.

2 -  Reset the watch.

3 - Plugged into PC with Garmin express, says installing GPS 5.30 completes , runs on the watch and then restarts and no change in version number.

4 - Followed the instructions here (via usb)

      did a manual update of firmways and the GPS files. firmware updated to 20.04 however the GPS is still suck on 4.40

5 - system/software updates/GPS updated and back to preparing update --> restarting and you guest it still on 4.40.

files in the RemoteSW (006B310701.GCD /  CPE.BIN /  CPE.BIN (yes there are 2) /  gup3107.gcd)

Any one with any advice would really help.

    I would contact Garmin as that sounds like a hardware fault.

    Hi,

    As per older post in the forum this update should be done through OTA or Garmin Express.

    You try to update manually and get stuck, it seems that some files are always present in the RemoteSW folder, so can you try to delete them, unplug and plug the device add the 5.30 update "006B310701.GCD" ? If it doesn't work, delete the folder RemoteSW, same process but you don't have to manually create this folder let your device does it or Garmin Express.
