problem syncing while backpacking

I have the fenix 6 pro and took it on the first overnight trip backpacking and did not seem to be able to sync the watch with the App on my iPhone with no WiFi. Bluetooth was turned on with the phone and the phone recognized the watch being connect but the App only seemed to tell me that there was no WiFi.

Is there a way to sync the watch to the iphone App in the filed with no WiFi and what are the steps. I had used the watch to track my hike and wanted to view the info on my phone at the end of the day but could not.

You don't need WiFi, you need internet. Use mobile data, if you have a signal. Or you'll just have to wait.

Maybe he meant 4G data coverage which would make sense. In anycase, I think you need internet data to sync the watch as it is syncing with Gamin's servers

Have you saved your activity and wanted to sync it with gcm to look at the activity data?

If you press menu>history>activities> then choose your activity

you can also view a lot of activity data. Or for what are you looking?

I agree with the other posters - syncing with Garmin Connect requires an internet connection on your phone. Cellular data, wifi doesn't matter, but there just needs to be internet access. I regularly sync over mobile data without a problem. Was your phone in airplane mode/mobile data turned off while hiking?

I haven't used it myself, but I understand that Garmin Explore allows offline syncing of Courses, etc without an internet connection - your hiking scenario.
