Fenix 6 features

Hi!

I have the Fenix 6 watch.

A few things I haven’t figured out are:

1. recurring training in the calendar, e g I want to do a certain training program every day.

2. I don’t want the “bar rinsed” message (“Stapeln rensad” in Swedish).

3. I turned off all notifications except sms. Would like to have calendar events also. But not the rest.

4. Ending a training program is strange. You press the lap button but still have to stop and save and stuff or it will tick on.

5. Can I replace specific exercises on the fly, while in a training program? E g so push-ups instead of squats but leave the rest of the program intact.

6. See sms I missed reading.

7. Shake away sms if private and a colleague is watching.

Thanks,

  • 1 You can send the workout from Garmin Connect to the watch. Then it is always available to you without having to be in the calendar. [Activity Type] > Training> Workouts

    2. There is a bit of translation/re-translation issue here. But I think you are referring to "Move Bar Cleared" alert - try turning Activity Tracking> Move Alerts = Off

    3. The watch allows limited filtering of notifications. If you go to the Garmin Connect Android phone app Settings> Notifications> App Notifications  you can be a lot more specific about which phone applications are and are not allowed to send notifications to the watch. I assume there is something similar for iOS.

    4. Some people like to extend their workout. eg. run to an athletics track, do their structured workout, then run home, all part of the same run. By taking you to the end screen, it gives you the choice of ending the workout, or continuing it. Choice is good.

    5. I don't use structured Strength workouts, so I can't really comment on this.

    6. If you go to the notifications widget, you should be able to see past notifications.

    7. Phone> Smart Notifications> Privacy allows you to make notifications visible only by pressing the Start button, or when you have your wrist turned towards you (Gesture).

  • 5)  I use structured workouts and there is no way to change a step on the fly to my knowledge. You can only change workout steps from the phone app or Garmin Connect web page. Once you change a step you would need to resend the updated workout to the device for the changes to be updated next time you start the workout on the app.
