  • FWIW, and maybe not worth much, since this is on a 945 LTE, but the issues expressed here are identical. I was able to fix my lag issue by deleting the activities off of history. Not that many activities, since I've only had the watch for about 5 weeks. Also, I have not installed any CIQ apps or watch faces since receiving the watch.

    • Sync with Garmin Connect
    • From the watch face, hold Menu symbol.
    • Select Settings > System > Reset.
    • Select Delete All Activities.

After removing all history, the lag is virtually imperceptible. I can live with this. Although, it would be preferable to not have to keep deleting history.

Before deleting history, which includes the famous 1-second lag...

    After deleting all history...

  • I see no reason why the Garmin firmware has to load all history to enter the glance widget loop, but it certainly looks like it does from your test.

Could someone who didnt clear history yet try to remove the widgets which rely on activity history (such as last activity) and see if the problem still occurs?

  • I don't have widget which rely on activity history ad I still have the problem.

Question: what happens with deleting activity history? Widget like "Race prediction" is still working?

  • Garmin standard watch face like "Infocal" is not free from lag.

  • for me too,
same issue, with standard and iq-watchfaces.

  • Thanks for the videos.

However, the solution here cannot be intended by Garmin.
In this case, Garmin should note before selling the watch that you have to delete the activities from the memory regularly to ensure that the watch works properly.

I agree. If this issue creeps up again, I will contact support. I suggest others do the same.

  • I have over 100 activities and zero lags with default watchfaces. So, this is not the real problem

  • i have the same problem too. only standard watchfaces &  20.00

  • I checked my email and found messages from 2018, topic 1s lag clockface to widget menu. I really like this bug get fix. Mine Fenix 5X get this around 9.20 firmware update. That bug followed to Fenix 6X.
