Fenix 6 receive no app notifications since latest Decmber update for Android 12

Hi,

Since I updated my phone (Pixel 4XL) yesterday to the latest Android 12 December update, my Fenix 6 does not receive app notification anymore. Before (on Android 12 also), everything was working perfectly. So, here is the summary since my Android 12 December update :

- My watch is working fine

- My watch can sync with Connect on my phone perfectly

- I still get phone notification on my watch (incoming calls)

- I still get sync notification on my watch (activity synched)

- Only the app notifications (GMail, Facebook, etc) stopped working.

I did go over all the settings everywhere and everything seems OK. I did restart both phone and watch and still no app notification... Any ideas?

Try uninstall Garmin connect and install again. Looks like a some local problem.

I have a Pixel 4XL as well and I've had no problems since the upgrade to A12. So it must be some sort of local problem.

Android 12 was not issue, it was working fine with it. Only the latest December update (released 2-3 days ago) broke the notification

Oh yup, well I also have that installed and it's still working for me, so again I think it's something local to your setup.

Ok, maybe but it has been working for months and the only change yesterday was the December update (and reboot)... I have seen a couple of report around this (reddit, other forums). There might be something but I will continue to search on my end.

I would double check permissions on the Garmin App - is it allowed access to notifications?

Yes, everything is allowed. I try to remove and re allow the permission and it did not change anything

It's NOT a local issue. Same thing happened to me with my s62 watch. pixel 4XL, december android 12 update broke notifications. As you said, android 12 was fine, it was the december update that screwed up notifications.

I deleted and reinstalled everything, re-paired bt, notifications still won't work. Like you said everything else is fine, just no notifications. It's currently driving me mad, been fiddling with this thing for the last two hours.

Have you checked the individual app notification permissions are active? I'm sure you have, but I had the opposite for a run of Garmin Connect updates last year which turned my curated notification set all on at each update, overwriting my settings. Maybe this update has turned them all off, hence my suggestion?
