Bluetooth issues with fenix 6 X pro solar and Google Pixel 6 Pro

I am having problems with the Bluetooth connection constantly getting lost between my Google Pixel 6 Pro and my fenix 6X pro solar. In the respective Google forums I read that this might be due to an older Bluetooth version on the watch than on the phone.

Is there any way to update the Bluetooth version on the watch manually?

I have the same set up as you, phone and watch, and initially had the same Bluetooth connection problems. Garmin rep told me to delete my watch from my old phone in the Garmin connect app and then re-add…

Which ANT/BLE/BT version is installed on your Fenix? 6.11 is the current one.

As a Samsung owner I'm not sure how Pixel phones do battery management, but have you allowed GCM to run in the background and disabled any battery/power optimisation for the app? Having the GCM app getting closed by over zealous battery management is a great way to keep losing connection.

Thank you both. The watch runs on ANT/BLE/BT 6.11 and there are no battery restrictions set for the app.

Any more ideas?

Perhaps just to delete the Fenix from your bt phone settings and pair again...

How do you see it loses connection? i.e. not syncing, does it constantly try to pair again, stop working as a 'smart unlock' device, do you get annoying BT disconnect/connect alerts on the watch? What do you see in the app (Settings, all the way at the bottom: Device Sync Audit)?

Have you made sure that your connect app isn't being killed when running in the background?

Would check your memory/battery settings for the connect app, and make sure you set it so that the app cannot be killed when its running in the background.

I have a 945 and a Pixel 6 and have the same problems.

FYI... seems like the Pixels have issues with some BT devices: Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro bluetooth connectivity issue with hearing aids (piunikaweb.com)
