Hopefully someone from Garmin can help answer this question.
I found an old twitter thread saying that Easycard (Taiwan) and Suica (Japan) are only supported on Apec builds of the firmware "at this time" (and therefore can't be installed on US versions):

Is there any possibility that feature could be 'promoted' to the global builds? It would be great to be able to use my garmin watch for transit when I visit asia. I'm partially asking out of selfishness because I'm about to change from a Venu (that I purchased while I was living in Taiwan) to a Fenix 6 (now living in the USA). I'd love to not lose this feature when I move back to Taiwan ;-)
I had heard that Suica uses special frequencies but Easycard uses regular NFC frequencies? The tiny Easycard "app" seems to be fully localized into English so I assume missing fonts wouldn't be a problem?
