We know this post states it is a public release candidate, yet the URL states it's a beta.  This is simply a method of delivery for public beta.  We use the same channel and therefore the 'beta' term follows each of these links.  We only note it is a public release candidate so that you are aware it's the proposed version to go live to the public.

  • and 3-6000 if it is a rowdy bunch of passengers.. :)

That's why I always have a parachute with me on most of my flights and jump out. However, this aircraft does not have a pressurized cabin ;)

Houston, we have a problem, Garmin does't work in space

  • Garmin does't work in space

Astronauts are prohibited from using a fenix.

  • Edit: forgot to mention that device does not have any 3rd party SW. I.e. No content from CIQ store. Pulse OX is used only during nights. I don't move actively so no GPS activities. For me device is basically expensive activity tracker which used to have great battery life (now less than 2 days)

If it is two days, then seriously push for a replacement - that is not normal by any stretch of the imagination - especially if no GPS activities

  • My watch is a Fenix 6s also, has some IQ stuff and watch faces, went through lots of betas, at moment still on 19.75 since getting lazy, will wait for 20.00 to load by itself, and I unfortunately am in a long inactive period (meaning, basically no gps), I keep it in power safe mode 7 hours per day during night, and... I get more battery than advertised (11, even 12 days).

There must be something physically wrong with your watch, get it replaced by Garmin

  • Odd that Garmin didn't help investigate further. It is possible for them to activate a mechanism such that the watch writes logs, so they can investigate which subsystem uses the most resources (it is also present in beta's, but you can't interpret all of the data), and help determine if the battery fails. Couple of ideas to narrow down possible causes (but you'll have to get to Garmin Support anyway I'm afaraid): What happens if you turn off the Pulse OX entirely? Can you connect it to Garmin Express and check if there are updates pending for it? Can you get a GPS fix outdoors?

  • Ah, I hear you, and I don't know why that would happen! Maybe, as you say, they pulled the update for your group, except those who already had the PRC. Epsilon says that it seems that field can't be relied on while using betas, sounds right to me.

  • I suspect the first time he checked it offered him the upgrade, but when he sync'ed it synced back he was on 20.00RC. Probably synced over the translations (as mine did to make it RC -> Final and net synced back "Ok guys he's done" so not to offer the upgrade anymore. Mine says 19.20 in GE but GE is weird like that. does it show 20.00 in Garmin Connect web or on an activity? If so, its done

  • No, I was already on 20 prc and it showed 19.2 in express, then 2 days ago even though I was already on 20 prc, it showed 20 in software version, then a day later it showed 19.2 again. Grin

Thanks for the tips. I have already done all those checks (turning off completely pulse ox didn't stop steady 2% per hour battery drain and gps seems to be working normally when I have tried whether getting good gps fix could help).

Before I jumped to ”beta train” I used garmin express to check for any pending updates and used also Garmin WebUpdater to reinstall device FW (back then 19.20).
