Navigate to address / send to watch

Hi all,

Is there a way of using Connect or Google Maps etc to search for an address on the phone and then send to the watch to 'navigate to'?

I know there is a slightly convoluted method of using the Explore app, creating a way point, syncing and then using that but OSM/Explore doesn't have half of the places I need to navigate to which Google Maps/Apple maps does (for example, city addresses, trail centres etc are all missing from Explore but in Google/Apple maps).

Explore is the way of doing it. It's geared more towards that then Googles city addresses etc, although if you download Garmin Basecamp on your computer you can use that for address searches using OSM and then send to watch. The Fenix isn't really geared towards urban exploration.

HI. You can use the SendPoints.us website to do a google search for the location, which will generate a short term 4-digit code for it

You can then use either the SendPoints CIQ App or GRouteLoader CIQ Widget/App to enter the code & download the location to your Fenix (If you use the GRouteLoader 'Widget' it does have the advantage of being able to download the location, while you're already recording an activity)

Sendpoints has one major drawback. It works only with internet connection.
Explore works everywhere.
Even in places without internet.

You don't even need cellular service. All that is needed for Explore is a Bluetooth connection between phone and watch.

You are right about Explore, but I have deleted it and won’t use it anymore:

it has often deleted all my waypoints/favorites while syncing or is had doubled/tripled all my favorites/waypoints. And of course that happened outdoors during a trip. And I am not the only one, who made this experience…

I think you had mentioned that before. But it's not Explore, it's your collection management. Proper management is very important. Waypoints and other data in your PRIMARY collection are definitely not deleted.

I've been using Explore for a few years, and I can't confirm your statement. If you sort the collections properly, and also synchronize the right collections, Explore will not delete anything unintentionally.
