GPS info bar won't go away during activity

Hi

Usually, when starting an activity, an "info bar" is sliding in on the upper quarter of the screen and shows the GPS connection building up (as well as connections to additional sensors). Once GPS is OK and sensors are connected, the "info bar" goes away. Since a few days, the "info bar" always stays on the screen. This is annoying since you have to click twice to change to the next training screen (one click to make disappear the info bar, another click to change to the next screen). Anyone having an idea how to fix this?

Thanks

David

  • You need to press the GPS button (upper right) to start the activity tracking.  Then the info bar is gone.  Once you are done with your activity, press the GPS button again to pause then select from the options displayed to save or discard the activity recording (there are other choices besides save and discard that you'll figure out).

  • Well, this is what I did: I go into activity, wait until GPS is green and then start activity recording. But the GPS info bar won't go away (it did always until a few days ago). It goes away, if I click the down-button, but reappears after 2 seconds and stays always on...

  • Sync your watch to GCM or GE to save recorded 24/7 data then try a hard reset by pressing and holding top left until the watch shuts down (hold through the Alert Message). Then restart.

If that doesn't work you could try resetting the specific activity back to its defaults before trying a factory reset and/or contacting Garmin Support.

  • Thanks for the hint. A simple restart (switch off and on) did the job, and the info bar slides away again during activity recording. Should have tried that before posting :-) thanks anyways
