I find it more comfortable to wear the watch inside of my wrist. Will that affect its performance? Ie. HR, stride length, cadence, or any recording of movement such as the “strength” app when going to the gym.

Some people suggest using it on the inside for better HR, i think i even saw a garmin page suggesting that if you have problems.... Not sure though, will try to find it again. The idea was that the area is "softer" (no bones, more flesh) and you get a better fit, so the sensor can work better. I tried it, it seems better but still unusable for me for running (biking is fine, but running in general are absurd readings from my wrist with this watch).
If you just switch to the inside of the wrist i think the rest should work as before, i mean it basically is doing the exact same movement as before, just on the inside.
I wear mine inside of wrist during running. For me anyway it seems to improve the HR readings.
I wear mine inside of wrist during running only, it improves GPS accuracy, havent noticed any side effects.
Some will tell you its more accurate for gps and/or heart rate. Others will say not. See what works best for you.
