Friend recently released new watch face

His design was to make everything big readable vs too much on screen that is small / hard to see.  He also made it highly configurable.  He is quite a talented developer with great attention to detail.

  • Hi, I have your face and really like it. I left a positive review and you replied (HR numbers when not worn, weekly intensity minutes progress bar) and seeing as it's not possible to reply to replies to reviews I thought I would say thank you here. Thanks!

  • Thank you guys. More bar options are coming later.

Individual icon colors were requested already, but I'm not sure about that one. It is not posiible to have both options together - change color for all icons together, or change them individually. I have to think about majority of the users in this case, and I think for most users it is easier to set it up once - individual icon (and logically individual field) colors are more tedious to set up.

For Heart Rate I set up the same behavior as Garmin stock watch faces - you see it when you wear a watch and HR is detected, and you don't when it is not. Initially it was showing almost always (took values from history). I think stock behavior makes more sense, otherwise you don't know what you are looking at (which point in history).

  • Military time option is release today Slight smile

About leading zero in Sunrise/Sunset (and also in Custom time now). That was omitted intentionally, as it was getting hard to fit in field boundaries.

  • Military time option is release today

I have Version 1.1.4 installed on my 6xPro, but still no Military Time option Thinking

I see no further update available - is there a newer version?

The only time options I see in CIQ and Express are System Setting, 12-Hour and 24-Hour.  I have Military Time set in my System and System Setting selected in the App options, am I doing something wrong?

    TIA

  • Interesting, I didn't even know Military time option exists in the watch settings. Garmin doesn't expose it to the app - all I can see is 12/24 hour setting.

Anyways, the setting is called "Remove Colon from Time", not the Military time. In combination with Leading Zero it is more flexible than just Military. Give it a try!

Connect IQ was updated today, and the user interface for options in your watch face is much better!  Found the "Show Colon" option and turned it off - you are correct, easier than choosing Military Time option in system.  So that's great!  But... when turning off the colon for the main displayed time, the colon is still shown for Sunrise and Sunset times.  As it looks strange to have a colon for some times and not for the main time, I just turned the colon for the main time back on.

It's not a deal breaker, and I can certainly live with it as it is now, but any chance you can have the same colon on/off option for the Sunries/Sunset times as well?

In any event, still loving the watch face and really like the new user interface in the Connect IQ App.

    Thanks for your efforts!

  • You are right, I didn't think of other time fields. It is partly because I am not sure they should follow the same rules as main time. Main time has few advantages:
    - It can have hours and minutes in different colors (hence separating them)
    - User expects to see time in that place, so it is easily recogniseable

For other fields, there is no such luxury. They can't have hours in a different color or font (at least not without a significant app rewrite). And they can be any metric, not necessarily  the time. So, for a GLANCE, it would be hard to say what that 4 digits number mean - it might be a step count or something else. Colon makes it easily recogniseable as "time".

Anyways, that is just what I think. For now I would like to keep it as is, but maybe later I can chage the setting to swithch ALL time to remove Colon...
