Audio prompts not working

I am no longer receiving audio prompts in my headphones. I have them set to tell me to drink every so often, eat every so often, calories burned every so often, none of them seem to work. The only one that works is the current pace that happens just before I hit every mile, and I do also get the lap prompt, Which is every mile. I don’t receive timer started or stopped either. I’ve restarted the watch but doesn’t help. Any ideas?

I have a fenix 6 sapphire

Audio Prompts> Activity Alert = On, Timer Events - On

Do you have your headphones connected to watch or your phone?

You will only hear the Timer Events prompts when the headphones are connected to the watch.

Where are you setting the eat, drink, and calories prompts?

I don't see these listed under Settings > Audio Prompts on my 6X or under Garmin Devices > fenix 6X Pro > Activity Options > Audio Prompts in Garmin Connect Mobile for Android.

Yes, my headphones are connected to my iPhone when running. I was using the headphones just connected to my watch and it seemed to work then. I’m not sure why only some alerts come through though. Why wouldn’t all alerts come to my headphones when the are connected to my phone?

I’m setting the other alerts in the run settings.

Some alerts are triggered by the watch only (the custom ones like proximity etc) IIRC

There are in effect two Audio Prompt systems.

The one in Garmin Connect Mobile is available to all devices (fenix, Forerunner, Edge, etc.).. For example I can get Audio Prompts from my Edge 1030 Plus through Garmin Connect Mobile but it has no onboard audio (speech synthesis) capabilities.

Very simplified, the Garmin device sends a message to Garmin Connect Mobile with the Audio Prompt details. Garmin Connect Mobile formats this message to the appropriate Text-to-Speech API (Android or iOS) then send it to the default Text-to-Speech Engine on the phone or tablet.

The other is on a subset of watches such as the fenix 6s/6/6X Pro models, They have onboard speech synthesis capabilities and can generate their own Audio Prompts and play them to headphones that are connected directly to the watch.

I found the same issue ... I own a Fenix 6X and never used custom audio prompts inside the activity (i.e. at specific distance in run activity) except the autolap prompts or the ones provided by workouts, until this morning ... and it didn't work
I've a Bluetooth earphone ... other audio prompts are ok
To be more precise, I was listening to music ...

I've been having the same issue since 6 or 7 months with my Garmin Fenix 6x pro solar. To fix it I go to Garmin Connect, activity options, audio prompts, lap alerts(or any other alert) ..disable it, close that menu( go backwards till Garmin Connect menu and do the same enabling that alert again( in this case..Activity options, audio prompts, lap alerts ..On).

It usually happens to me after a cardio workout or after disconnecting from usb while charging or updating via Garmin express.
