Regarding FENIX 6 IS NOT FOR RUNNING!

Which Garmin does not have the sony GPS chip issue accuracy impacting some Garmin?

Thanks !

Alex

  • I still have both "issues", zig zags when running in between buildings and the opposite, a "straight" line when zig-zaging in the dense forest. In this case, the track is shortened...
In any case, "business as usual"...nothing special on the Fenix 6 per se...

  • > You can cancel de autopause.

I'm only aware of switching autopause off. Unfortunately, I typically don't remember to reactivate it later on. So this is not an option for me. Can you cancel a specific autopause? So the watch tells you: Autopause and you order it to go on this time ("Go on, I'm still moving)?

    > Yesterday I made a run 6 mn/km. Really it demotivate me because my real afterwards was 5:37 mn/km. So you never know when you need to accelerate during your run or if's doing quite well. And I'm not speaking about specific training

I think I do understand your issue. The problem is: GPS is for location determination. And it has a "resolution" of 5m or so. So when you take the "raw" GPS data, you may move even when standing still. Or move for a zick zack line of 10 meters when you actually just did 3 steps to the side. You cannot get reliable pace information. There are "filters" to improve this. Some are better, some are worse. It is a pitty that you have a watch which doesn't meet your requirements.

I don't understand why Garmin didn't exchange the watch. In the past, they were very customer friendly according to my experiences. But on the other hand: You want to give it back, don't you?

  • Yes you can.  You can choose also on wich activity you want to do it.  Go to activity and applications.Selec an activity and select autopause.

  • Yes giving back.  And to have an other one or to exchange it with the Forerunner 945 LTE.  Because yes I'm happy about my past experience with Garmin

Well, you can apply "brute force", you click "start" (twice) and force the watch out of pause...of course, if you keep the same pace or stop, it will go again to pause.
