Fenix 6 Pro and Technogym MyRun treadmill as footpod - Distance OK but Cadence double

Hello All and Garmin Support team,

I connected my Fenix Pro 6 to my Technogym MyRun treadmill over cross.

The Fenix is broadcasting HR to the MyRun and Myrun is connected to Fenix as footpod (distance Indoor always is switched on) and should transmit speed, distance and cadence.

The distance is fine and I calibrated it while saving the Treadmill activity on the Fenix. But the Cadence shows around double the expected values.

Is this a Fenix or a MyRun issue and how to solve it?

Thanks

Matt

  • Hi Matt,

Can you explain how you managed to connect your Garmin Fenix with the Technogym treadmill?
I use a forerunner 945 and a SkillRun and couldn’t manage yet to connect them. I could provide feedback after testing.

    Thanks

    Florin

  • I've the same treadmill.  I've not tested it with my Garmin yet, but I've used it with a Polar Grit X Pro just today and cadence looked to be what I expected. When I get a chance I'll try it with my Garmin Fenix.

  • It pairs by Bluetooth as a speed/cadence sensor and should appear as a footpod on your watch.  You might try pairing by not having a tablet connected.  It may only support one Bluetooth channel.  That means it pairs with your tablet and the Technogym app and so you can't also pair your watch.  Turn off your tablet.  Pair your watch.  You might also start the treadmill when attempting to pair it.

    Hi Matt,

I confirm you that I’m seeing the same behavior with my F6 and my Technogym Myrun.

It was not the case in the past, so not sure if it’s a F6 bug or a Myrun one…

  • My Technogym SkillRun has no tablet option, it has its own display.
Tried to pair Forerunner 945 with the treadmill with ‘any sensors’ option with no result and when I try to pair it as a foot pod is says ‘walk around with the pod’ but I can’t since the treadmill has 200kgs B-).

Even if it would work, I wonder if the watch would still connect with my chest strap and also the cheststrap with the treadmill. But I guess it should cuz its ANT+, and I think its multi device…

  • Thanks SVKELLY
please do let me know your results with the fenix. I'll try also what you wrote below and keeping the tablet out of the equation - but that would suck actually as I'm doing the technogym routines but need all my data in Garmin Connect. I read somewhere that MyRun is even transmitting the incline data to platforms like zwift (which I don't use) - wouldn't that be cool if some came up with a hack to capture all MyRun output data and put them in a format we could import into Garmin Connect? Instead of giving us customers best value - all these companies are fighting like crazy to lock us into their own platforms only... (same with Tacx before Garmin bought them finally...)

  • Do you also have the tablet with the technogym app running and your fenix paired?

Yes, tried today. Cadence is correct on tablet (iPad), but doubled on fenix.

I wrote an email to support today, hope they’ll fix it.
