Temperature sensor on Fenix 6 Pro Solar

Hello,

I'm French.

Currently, the temperature displayed on my Fenix® 6 Pro Solar watch is obtained via my smartphone. I would like to display the one captured directly by the sensor of my watch. How to do ?
I would also like to display all the data from the sensors of my watch. Is it possible ?
Thank you.

  • The temperature shown on native watch faces is, as far as I know, the weather temperature, which does come from the internet via your phone. I don't know if there is a third party watch face that can show the temperature of the watch, but I would think it is likely. Otherwise you can view the temperature widget to see the watch temperature or start an activity and include a temperature field in the display.

As for other sensors, some can be shown on the watch face, like altitude or heart rate, steps, calories and others too.

If there is something unavailable then you'll need to look at third party watch faces, widgets or activity data fields.

  • You need to purchase the tempe sensor from garmin which will show the outside temperature, but will only show this when recording an activity

  • Tempe temperature can also be seen in the temperature widget, assuming it is in range. You will also see the last 24 hour maximum and minimum as well as current. However, if you have a Tempe paired, but out of reach, the widget will not show a temperature at all as it will simply wait for the Tempe to connect.

Of course, it is true that the watch temperature is near useless unless it is removed from the wrist, but if that's what the user wants, who am I to argue? Tempe may not be required if, for example, the use case is the watch on handlebars.

  • Hello fuzzy50,
If I understand your answer correctly, there is no temperature sensor built into my watch. So the following sensors are: Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, Gyroscope and Geolocation Chip (GPS, Glonass, Galileo). Is it this ?
Do not hesitate to tell me if I forget any.
    Thank you.

  • The watch has a temperature sensor built in, but if you are wearing the watch it shows a blended temperature from your own body heat and the outside temperature, which might be air temperature only or sunlight temperature. In other words it is pretty much useless as a meaningful number if you are wearing the watch. It tells you the temperature of the watch, but not your temperature or that of the environment.

If you install the temperature widget you can see the watch temperature right now without buying anything else.

  • What is the name of the temperature widget and where to download it?
If possible, give a link to the page or download it.
    Thank you.

  • It comes with the watch. You should be able to scroll to it if it is already installed, or install it from the watch or from Garmin Connect Mobile.
