Searched on Google for Fenix's on sale.

This was the first result coming from Garmins website:

So maybe not a brand new 7 in the works...

  • I'm hoping for something really big, too. But on the other hand, I'll save a lot of money if the only thing it adds is the new elevate sensor and slightly longer battery or LTE, because I won't feel any need to buy it Joy

Personally, I'd be happy if all they did was shrink the dead space around the screen and make the screen a bit bigger. Seems like they could easily make the screen .2" bigger without increasing the watch dimensions at all, just by getting rid of those useless tick marks around it. That would be enough for me to upgrade. More color depth and internal storage space would be cool, too.

  • yeah, kind of like the new apple watch 7 that has a faster charging time :) i have a friend that is into the apple ecosystem and he always upgrade. This time, he told me if was going to stick with the 6 and save some cash. So i agree with you that all the newest garmin watches were just blah. No need to upgarde my fenix 6 Pro. More color depth would be cool if the battery does not suffer. Polar have nice color but screen is too dim. I agree about increasing data field. I do not want a X but would like 2 more data fields :) We'll see next month. What would be cool is to see a nightly graph of hrv value, better sleep algorithm and body battery. BB has never worked for me. 98% of the time i always get 100 when i wake up. I go to be with a score in low 30 and wake up at 100. i do sleep 8 hours min, only drink water and not really stressed. Luckily, i have other wearable that gives me a better idea of recovery. But the thing is that i really not sure about all the hrv recovery though. I cycle and my legs are super tired this morning. I need to take a few days off and all my wearable tell me that i am recovered and i should push.

  • I need to take a few days off and all my wearable tell me that i am recovered and i should push.

Just let it nag and 'listen to your body'. These algorithms will not be perfect for every individual in every set of circumstances. I think that these features work best for an 'average' group. Extra motivation to increase effort, to take time to recover, or help recognizing impending over-training can be useful if it works for you. But the watch has no concept of periodization, doesn't know it if you're injured, etc. Depending on what training phase I am in, I switch them on or off. Otherwise It nags me for tapering before a race, afterwards for having overdone it, and then another week of nagging while I recover. But it's kind of nice to have it cheering me on during base-building weeks.

  • I Googled Fenix 7 and saw this. It might be search spider optimization, or a realease in the near future.

  • I googled "ufo" and "alien" and got a ton of search results. Doesn't necessarily mean they exist though...... Or do they........

  • The link is to buy.garmin.com though...

  • But that list that you highlighted above also includes Fenix 4.

  • I Googled Fenix 7

another speculation : there will be no fenix 7. the next one will be called fenix 8.

  • I cycle and my legs are super tired this morning. I need to take a few days off and all my wearable tell me that i am recovered and i should push.

The watch cannot take into account physical fatigue, only physiological. However, now there is the ability to input perceived exertion it is possible that the recovery data will better adjust.

  • Yeah. That is I why i wonder if all these wearable are worth it when we talk recovery. I started back to look at my heart rate variations like I did 30 years with my polar. I glance at my whoop recovery but do not pay really attention. The only product I would not mind to try would be the polar vantage 2 where you jump to see on how your legs are recovered. But I heard that polar was coming with a grit x pro in October. Even if whoop is telling me I am stressed, does it really going to affect my muscle performance? Garmin bb is always 100 every morning:)
