  • This appeared to be a simple Beta for a single bug fit, why it is stuck in Beta for three weeks now ?

  • Good question...waiting for a stable version!!!

  • Good question...waiting for a stable version!!!

There will never be one, if you consider the social media posting style on this forum and all the issues people have.

An update is around the corner though, according to this post 7 hours ago:

    UPDATE on the issue:

An issue was found with v19.20 that is directly related to using a HRM strap/accessory. If using a HRM strap, we are temporarily recommending to not use one until the issue is resolved. Our engineers continue to work on resolving the issue and we hope to release a new software update soon to fix the issue.

I've used three different straps without any issues, so it will be interesting to see what that issue is all about (if possible). Wrist based HRM is highly unstable for me though, unfortunately Garmin can't fix my wrists.

  • unfortunately Garmin can't fix my wrists.

    Have you tried RMA-ing them?

Maybe you can ship them to Garmin :-)

  • Since there is a beta ongoing...

I did send some days back a simple "feature request" through the suggest feature email form (clearly, did not receive any answers but this I guess it's normal)

I am curious if this could interest someone else, basically... I normally use the "privacy" function for the notifications, which implies turning the wrist for loading the text of the same, and I like it. Since the gesture is detectable and usable in this case, the request I did is as follows:

I would find very useful (either using or not the privacy function) to be able to scroll the long texts by successive wrist gestures (basically... while a notification is on screen performing a wrist gesture would emulate pressing the "down" button and go to the next text screen of the notification (off course only while reading a notification, for avouding entering the widgets menu if trying to check the time Smiley )

I had this on a watch from another brand and found it extremely handy, did not need to press buttons to read a long text, perfect while driving or riding the bike, basically... 1 hand operation for this little detail. And honestly... I don't think would be that diffcult to implement.

    What do you think?

    thanks, cheers.

  • What do you think?

It will be implemented in the fénix 24 series, probably Joy

  • ...ok... Still 18 versions to go, then...

I guess I can wait 45-50 years then, given the new version launch timing....

    Smiley

Actually, the function for detecting wrist gesture (obviously) but also double gesture is already built in, some iQ watch faces and apps already use this to toggle screens... Would be nice, that's it!

I hope they listen, and even more... I hope (in the unlikely case they do listen) that there will not be any bugs introduced by implementing the function

Thinking bit more about it... Would be useful also in other use cases, for instance toggling between data screens during an activity... Would love to be able to do that while running or cycling without reaching for the buttons with the other hand... I know there is an auto scroll feature but... Would be better to decide easily when to toggle.

Maybe too much little things, I don't know Slight smile

  • Well, they refused to accept that. :)

"While our wrist HR monitor technology is state of the art, there are inherent limitations with the technology that may cause some of the heart rate readings to be inaccurate under certain circumstances. These circumstances include the user’s physical characteristics, the fit of the device and the type and intensity of the activity as outlined above. The HR monitor data is not intended to be used for medical purposes, nor is it intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition."

  • Shame, no clue why they'd refuse a pair of wrists ;-)

Are they still in warranty. Grin

  • No, unfortunately they are very old and second hand. :)
