Slow Sync After Factory Reset (F6XPro)

I backed up my settings, locations, everything, even the Activities folder, and then did a full reset. Afterwards I merged all the files back.

My watch DOES connect to my mobile and appears to sync, but it is running SO slowly. It will take hours for the sync to run. Why is this? Everything was restored back onto my watch. Is it trying to download all my workouts again from Garmin Connect on the web, or something else? Is it just a 1 time problem? Before the factory reset syncing was super fast.

The sync took about 2 hours and completed. Subsequent syncs after that was as quick as before. So seems to be a first sync after reset issue. Thanks all.

Well I started the sync roughly when I made my post, which means the sync has been running about 2 hours now. Still going.

It’s comparing all the activity files with what’s already uploaded. I’ve had very slow syncs the first time after reinstalling GC mobile or switching to a new phone. It should be fine after the first sync or two.

You can speed things up by just archiving the contents of the activity folder somewhere off device. Once the activity has been uploaded you don’t need it on the watch. The History will be synced
