Crazy (Impossible) GOOD battery life after 19.20 update and factory reset

I updated to 19.20 a few days ago, all was ok, but the battery drain seemed a tiny bit fast for me.

So today I decided to back up my files and do a full reset, and then afterwards merge my files back.

I don't know if I did it correctly or not, but after the reset my battery life has been incredible.

Before, on Battery Saver I would get 42 days out of a full charge (as reported by the watch)

After today's reset, I am told I am going to get 80 days on Battery Saver mode. I'm pretty sure my settings (seeing I made a backup and restored the settings) file, should be the same.

What gives?

This 40sec clip shows the F6 showing 100% battery level. As soon as I connect the USB cable, the level drops down to the actual current level (96%). It takes quite a long time after disconnect to show…

You show a ciq watchface that displays 100%. To rule out that it is a bug of this watchface from the Appstore, it would certainly be useful to post another video. This time with a standard Garmin watchface…

Sounds like you are given estimates based om your watch being an F6 solar. 48 days without solar, 80 days with solar is what the specifications says.

Do you have a Fenix 6 solar?

Should have added, its a 6x PRO non-Solar.

Specifications says 80 days in battery saver mode for F6X pro (non-solar). So that seems ok for you.

Did you perhaps have OHR and perhaps something more enabled in battery saver mode earlier? That would reduce max battery time.

I have OHR and activity tracking enabled in battery saver mode. That gives me some 70% of max time.

The lighting settings ( brightness/ duration) are the same before and after the reset ?

I have almost the same thing, but I noticed that after updating to 19.20 and being forced to do a factory reset, my battery level does not change anymore, except when I disconnect the USB cable. So I am looking at 100% already for 2 days. The day before, I looked at the number, saw 80% and a few hours later my watch told me to start battery saver, as the level was below 10%.

During charge, the level stays at the number that I started the charge with, and only updates when disconnecting the usb cable.

I have a feeling 19.20 introduced some strange behaviour.

i have problem with abnormal battery drain after update to 19.20.

what does mean- you do "full reset" ?

Its factory reset to default or HARD RESET?

I have the same issue. I charged my watch yesterday, and slept with the watch on during the night. That might have been enough to get it to drop at least 1%. This morning I did an hour ride on Zwift using the watch to broadcast my HR, something which should have at least sucked up a few % points. It is now 10 hours later and my watch is still on 100%.

Def an issue here, Garmin-Jimmy.

Garmin-Jimmy, as I mentioned above, my watch JUST said 100% battery left, and that's with sleeping and 1 workout. The second I plugged in my desktop charger and it changes to the green charging screen, it showed 96%, which seems more accurate.

The watch isn't showing the battery percentage and estimated battery life correctly on 19.20.

Just pulled my watch off the charger with the battery showing 96%, and immediately plugged it back in, and it said 97%. So what TwanVeugelers said above is correct. Garmin-Jimmy

I made a little movie that shows 100% plugging in the usb cable, it drops to 96% immediately.

If I need to share, let me know, it's not my best work, but needed 3 hands, and only have 2 ;)
