Fenix 6X Pro Using Multiple Sensors

Hi,

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I have the Fenix 6X Pro and when running I pair it with the HRM-Duel.

Recently I purchased the Running Dynamics Pod, ever since then, when running, even though both Sensors will indicate connected before the workout, the watch will not import the heart rate of the strap but will import data from the pod normally.

My assumption is that only one external sensor can be used during a workout.

Is there a way to get both working during workouts?

  • Both should be working, I frequently use multiple external sensors with my Fenix 6X. If you are connecting via bluetooth I would suggest switching to ANT+, it's a more robust protocol when it comes to multiple connections.

When you say import do you mean it's not receiving any data from the HRM during the workout? I only ask because importing is a separate thing that happens with some HRMs such as the HRM-Pro and HRM-Tri where it will import at the end of a swim workout. Any other workout it should be receiving realtime data and will not import at the end of the workout.

  • Even more, I have two footPods with my shoes and Fenix just connect with them without problems.

Before pairing the Pod, at the end of every workout, the watch would ask me if I would like to replace the heart rate data of the watch with that of the strap.

It seems that I'm doing something wrong.

  • I've used multiple sensors tons of times, including the same combination as you (HRM-dual + RD Pod), and I've never seen a message asking me which HR data I want to use. That's very weird.

It always just uses the HRM if I'm wearing it, or the optical if I'm not. All automatically. It doesn't prompt me to pick one. The optical sensor shouldn't even be turned on when you have a HRM strap connected.

Try deleting the HRM-Dual from your Sensors & Accessories menu, and add it again, and see if that helps.

  • As stated by others - the device can support multiple sensors. You might unpair/delete/forget all of them, and then start over again, making sure you're using the WATCH to do the pairing (not your phone's bluetooth settings, for instance). Good luck.

  • Mine has never asked about using the HRM data except for in the case of swimming, as far as I know the HRM-Dual doesn't even have that feature so I'm surprised it did that.

When I do a non-swim workout with an external HRM paired (in my case the HRM-Pro) it automatically takes priority and the data shown on the watch and recorded is from the strap. It happens in real time and it should not need to ask at the end. You might have a weird setting with your optical HR. That's the only thing I can think of to cause that.
