Golf not changing holes

Watch doesn’t detect next hole.  Why. If I have to walk thru the back tees each time that’s crap.

  • There is a lot of stuff wrong with the golf app. TBH I have given up telling Garmin about them as they sometimes answer asking further questions but the bugs have now existed since the F6 came out so I doubt they will ever be fixed.

  • Hello, have you found or heard about a solution of this problem? I find it really annoying but can not find a trick to overcome it. BR

  • 10 months later and I have the same problem with my fenix 6 Pro solar. Very annoying that I have to manually change to the next hole and cannot input the scores. Now I am not sure if the watch is serving its intended purpose. Does anyone have a solution yet to this?

  • Check your menu / System / Data Recording and set it to record ‘every second’ not ‘smart’

  • The watch transition holes as it comes within a certain proximity of the furthest tee box back as the user proceeds to the next hole.

Hole transition also requires the club prompt, score, and stat tracking screens to be entered/cleared off the screen from the previous hole before the watch will automatically transition to the next hole.

Prior to starting the round of golf on your fenix, sync the watch to your phone through the Garmin Connect mobile app, to ensure that the watch has the most current satellite prediction data (updated in the background, and not visible when installed).

On your next round, make sure to allow your fenix to fully acquire satellites, as opposed to selecting the "Skip" option. Let the satellites fully load around the screen. It is important to select the Golf actiivty when you are located on the first hole, or the hole you are shotgun starting from. Do not start the round on your way to the course, from the putting/chipping green, or from the driving...start it from the hole you are actually beginning the round on physically.

  • I just update my Fenix 6 and don't change holes anymore after the update. any suggestion how to fix it

  • I suggested to someone else to ‘Check your menu / System / Data Recording and set it to record ‘every second’ not ‘smart recording’.

I’m running beta 26.93 without issues on Fenix 6X. I’m assuming you tried all that Garmin-Cody suggested.

  • Make sure to allow the watch to full acquire satellites after selecting the golf activity app vs selecting the skip option on-screen. Also always start the round from the tee box outside vs prior to getting to the course, and instead of starting from the parking lot or practice greens, etc.

Then when going from one hole to another, make sure to enter score as you are leaving the green and confirming any stat tracking information like putts/penalties/fairway position if using the stat tracking feature. Scoring, if enabled requires the user to tap the scorecard icon to enter and confirm the score, so that needs to be input as you move from one hole to another.

If you have the big numbers mode enabled in the Golf Settings on the watch, that will prevent the prompts for stat tracking and scoring to appear on-screen...and that mode will need to be disabled if you are wanting the watch to transition with those features enabled during the round.

After following the suggestions above...if you continue to have the concern, please contact Garmin Support to discuss the concern with a live expert to determine further solutions.
