route calculating is hanging

when i try to use a route it goes to 'calculating' and just sites there. i've watched navigation videos and the calculating is almost instant

Activity Settings> Routing> Courses> Follow Course.

This should just pick up the course, rather than recalculating it with the onboard map data.

Do you use an imported route (and if yes, how did you create and import it?) or are you creating one directly on your watch? The latter can take ages, depending on distance. The former may have trouble because of some corrupt file.

Thanks for the reply. I made the routes on plotaroute.com and imported as. gpx file but I am getting the same issue when I search 'around me' on the watch and pick a destination to navigate to
