Where to find latest software?

Howdy y'all.

I got my fenix 6 Sapphire about three weeks ago. It's rad. So far it saved us twice navigating some trails in Southwest Washington State when we weren't positive which trail to take.

I am curious about software updates. My device is on 16.70. I haven't had any notifications to update the device software, yet I see people on 19.20 and other versions.

Where can I go to find the latest stable release for my device? It looks like 19.20 is possibly beta? I am not comfortable enough with this device to start installing beta builds of the software and risk breaking something. I work in IT, even several years in software development, so I will get there at some point. Right now though, I'm not ready to risk bricking my device.

19.20 is a final release, just that due to demand - rather than rely on the usual push to device update strategy, it's been released for manual update.

Where do we find the latest stable release of the device software? I am not looking for the 19.20 software, or any other particular version.

I am curious where I would go to check for the latest version to compare to what is on my device.

MikeJ welcome to the Fenix 6 forums. Happy to have you here to join the discussion. I've stated this in previous threads, but I'll outline it here for anyone who may have missed it. We will often release beta software in the forums for those users who don't mind loading betas and providing feedback. We also release software that we call a public release candidate as well. This software is administered to the group in the same manner beta updates are. The public release candidate is the stable version we intend on releasing to the overall public as long as nothing critical is spotted.

In both of the instances above, we use a software delivery portal that has the term 'Beta' hard coded in the naming convention of the URL generated. We continue to use this portal at the risk of some confusion for ease of delivery to those who would like to use it. We released 19.20 after the software started rolling out to the general public. In order to play catch up and offer the 'public release candidate' we came back to the forums and made 19.20 available. It was a little backwards to our normal process, but again, we thought the community would appreciate us making it available as we usually do.
