Activate heartrate during activity

Hello Community,

I need your support.

Sometimes I forget to activate my heartrate Monitor before I Start my run.

In the run it ispossible to navigate to the Sensors and activate the Sensor on the watch, but it still dies not include it in the run.

Only if I Finish the activity and Start a New one, the heartrate is tracked.

Is there any way to get the heart rate tracked during the activity?

Regards

Chris

  • I guess that this is a heart rate monitor that you have to manually switch on? At the start of an activity you'll see at the top of the screen icons for which sensors are active, and those are the ones that will be use to take data from.

Depending on your settings, heart rate data is taken from the optical built-in sensor if no external heart rate monitor is found. Maybe you have chosen not to do that.

(the rest of my reply is based on experience with other Fenix watches, so please test this at home to make sure it works:)

If you activate a sensor later, it won't be included, but there is a workaround for that: pause the activity with 'resume later'. Then resume it, the watch will do a new search for active sensors, and the rest of the activity will contain the data from it.

(This works for external heart rate sensors, foot pods, cadence sensors etc. Only external temperature sensors (Tempe) can be added mid-activity without having to do this.)

  • Its possible to activate or connect or pair a external heart rate monitor while an activity. Just longpress the Back/Lap-Button to junp to the mainscreen, use the Menu to connect the heart rate monitor and than press the Activity-Button (upper right corner). Fenix will instantly use the external sensor, i tried this many times
