Music and battery life

Hi, i had a new fenix 6 pro DLC and i workout around 6 hours per week whatever its gym or running i usually listen to music with a Bluetooth small mp3 player even i used to have a 645M before but i was against using music on the watch bcauz the charge/discharge cycles will affect the life expectancy of the battery so i want to hear other people’s personal experiences , is it worth  it to use music on the watch on a regular bases or my battery capacity will be affected hardly in 1 to 2 years ?

  • I use my Fenix 6X pro solar since summer 2020. The first half year with 2 GPS workouts of totally 8 hours in a week and NO music. Last half year 5 GPS workouts of totally 11 hours of which 3 hours music.
First half year I charged it once a week and now twice a week.
In general a Li-ION battery has a life expectancy of 300-500 charge cycles .... so in my situation the battery will last 3 till 5 years. If I dont use music I estimate that battery life expectancy will increase with 6 months.

I will use the music on my watch, it is so comfortable not having a phone or separate MP3 in my pocket during workouts

Final thought: if you are a bit handy with electronics you can buy a new battery for around US$ 30,=

part number battery BTC-GMT100SH for 6X watch
